If your business is in need of a new paint job, then this is the time for you to choose a new color scheme or to decide on other things you would like to have incorporated into the exterior of your business. The last thing you want to do is to make a fast decision with something this extremely important and then decide you should have chosen something different or had other elements added after the paint has dried. Here are three things you want to make sure you consider when you are choosing the right paint for your commercial business's exterior.
1. Stand out without looking tacky
There's a fine line between choosing colors that help your business to stand out from those around it and standing out in a tacky fashion. Unless there is a good reason why you would choose to paint your building a very bright color, such as orange or pink, it's best to go with toned down colors that are considered to be more professional. You can still have your business painted in a way that helps it be recognizable from others without going too bright.
You should consider choosing a color that's a couple of shades away from the businesses right next to it to make yours easier to spot to your customers and others who will be visiting regularly. By having your business a couple of shades off, they will recognize it right away and on sight. Also, first-time visitors will see it better, so they don't pass right by it.
2. Consider going with two colors
If possible, you may want to have the exterior of your business painted in two colors. If you do this, you may want to go with a dark color along the bottom and the lighter color on top, this is generally more pleasing to the eye. Plus, having the darker color on the bottom will help you to keep it cleaner, as the rain can splash mud specks on the wall and when you have a darker color down there, it will be harder for people to spot the dirt.
3. Think about having logos or names painted at the same time
If you are going to want to have the business logo, the business name or anything else painted on the exterior of your business, you should consider having this done when you will be having the entire exterior painted. You will find it less expensive to have everything done by the same painter. Plus, it allows all the exterior to age at the same time, which makes sense since it means the place will need an entirely new paint job at the same time in the future.
